Over the years energy inefficiencies has resulted from uneconomical plant operations, lack of controls and overall lack awareness of the value of energy conservation.
An example as provided by Natural Resources Canada states that Canadian schools spend about $500 million annually on energy; avoiding unnecessary costs could reduce national energy costs by approximately $75 million per year – this being very significant.
Energy efficiency ultimately results in reduced overhead expenses for any institution and with reduced operating costs comes the opportunity to potentially reallocating funds to program development and delivery.
